In an industry where the NRL’s star performers are the most sought after, the league’s top teams have to be the most visually appealing.
The home side of the Raiders have the most iconic helmets, their iconic uniforms, their trademark grey uniforms and the most prominent fans on the field.
And with the likes of James Roberts, Matt Scott, Josh Mansour and Adam Reynolds all returning to the club after a spell away, the Raiders’ home kit is one of the most distinctive in the competition.
“They have really done an amazing job,” Raiders owner Steve Gorman said of the jersey, which features the word ‘Raiders’ on the front.
“We have done a good job of getting it right, but it’s not like we’re the only team in football that is doing that.”
It’s just not something we’ve had to do.
“There’s no doubt that the home jersey has been one of our most iconic products in terms of design.”
Gorman said the Raiders had already made improvements to their home kit in 2017, and the new look had been a key component of their pre-season plans.
“I think it was probably one of their biggest things this year,” he said.
“When we first got in it, it was pretty much a pre-workout kit, so we had to make a few adjustments and get some extra work done to make sure it was a good looking product.”
But the rest of the season we’ve been really pleased with how it’s looked.
“Gommers goal for 2017 is to have the same look as the last decade, but that might not be as simple as it looks on paper.
While the Raiders are expected to return from a bye to win their first premiership since 2003, Gorman will be hoping to get another crack at the crown this season.”
If we can get a couple of wins on the weekend, then we can really get going for a top four finish,” he told NRL 360.”
To win the premiership this year, I think it would be the biggest thing we’ve achieved in our history.
“The way we’ve won premierships, I don’t think it’s ever been done before, but hopefully we can do it again.”
Hopefully we can take that top four spot and put the finishing touches on a really successful season.
